I hold to faith, hope, and love,
but July 4th will never be the same for me.
To My Brother in Heaven...
Somewhere back in ’67, a little boy was born,
With big blue eyes, and bushy blonde hair,
On a beautiful March morn
Some may say “accident prone” was his middle name
But conquer through, every struggle,
His strong willpower soon came
There were many times, he came close to death,
But phase him it did not,
From sled accident, to being hit by a train
To live a full life he fought
He once wrote a poem, I found in his room,
It fit him to a “T”
The following statement, came from Brian,
It’s his philosophy
“To all my friends, please let me live life,
As fully as I can,
And despite my challenges always remember
To accept me as I am”
These words of course, come from Brian,
Written from his heart
And now as I write, to say my good bye,
It hurts to see you part…
So to you my brother, I write this poem,
Feeling sad inside,
Asking God, to give me strength,
And the comfort he’ll provide
We had many a memory, and loads of fun,
Picking on each other,
But every day I’m so thankful for,
Having you as my brother
We traveled the
Playing “toothbrush games” with dad
And fished at the cabin, looking for crappies,
Remember the fun we had?
We got lost in the woods, and stuck in the mud,
But laugh it off we did
We made forts in the snow, and castles in sand,
And down many a hill we slid
And even pondering through the past year,
The memories touch my heart,
The talks with you, fun times we had,
I don’t know where to start
Like running with you in the Anoka Race
Dressed as groom and bride,
I struggled to run in that long wedding slip,
But you had a much bigger stride!
You made such an impact on so many people
Brian, you’re the best
You’re dearly missed by friends and family,
Whom your life has blessed
Though here on earth, I’ll never see you,
There’s a peace I have inside
Knowing you’re with the “Great Caretaker”
Oh the love He’ll provide!
I look forward to seeing you, again someday,
On Heaven’s Avenue
Brian, thank you for thirty great years,
Brian,
I truly love you!
